Godzilla vs Kong by Decker Shado

After a tumultuous production process, Godzilla vs. Kong was initially scheduled for release on May 29, 2020, before being moved forward to March 13, 2020, and then again to November 20, 2020, and finally to May 21, 2021. It was then rescheduled for release on March 26, 2021, before finally hitting cinemas on March 31, 2021 in the United States of America. The film was also available for viewing on HBO Max until April 30, 2021, where it could be seen in real time.

The screenplay was written by Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields, while Adam Wingard directed the film. Borenstein, Dougherty, and Shields collaborated on the script. In Godzilla vs. Kong, which takes place five years after Godzilla vs. Ghidorah, Godzilla and Kong square battle when Ghidorah goes on a rampage.

Legends clash in "Godzilla vs. Kong" as two mythical rivals square off in a dramatic fight for the destiny of the Earth. Kong and his guards go on a risky trip in search of his rightful home, and they are accompanied by Jia, a little orphaned girl with whom he has developed an unbreakable and profound attachment. However, they find themselves unintentionally in the way of an infuriated Godzilla, who is wreaking havoc around the globe. The epic battle between the two titans, sparked by unknown powers, is merely the beginning of the mystery that lurks deep under the Earth's core.

Godzilla and Kong are the only live Titans on Earth in 2024, five years after they battled and defeated their alien adversary Ghidorah for dominion in 2019. Skull Island's climate has become unstable as a result of Ghidorah's storm combining with the storm cell that is perpetually surrounding the island, forcing Monarch to confine Kong inside a dome-shaped facility that simulated the island's environment, with an orphaned young Iwi girl named Jia, who is deaf and can communicate with Kong via sign language, providing him company.

Bernie Hayes, an employee of the Apex Cybernetics corporation and the host of the Titan Truth Podcast, a Titan conspiracy theory podcast, exfiltrates information pointing to sinister activities at a Pensacola Apex facility, but just as he is about to finish downloading the files, Godzilla appears and launches an unexpected attack. The remains of the facility include a bizarre piece of technology that resembles a huge robotic eye, which Bernie finds after Godzilla's spree of destruction.

After the assault, popular opinion has changed against Godzilla, who is no longer seen as a hero. Even though she's an adult now, Bernie's podcast listener Madison Russell worries about the recent assault on her school by Godzilla. Later, she attempts to reason with her widower father Mark (who is serving as Monarch's director) about a potential clue on the origin of Godzilla's rampage but she is dismissed by his sole reply: "creatures, like people, can change.". With Josh Valentine at her side, Madison is on a mission to find the person responsible for Godzilla's rampage and the truth about Apex.

Meanwhile, Apex's founder and CEO, Walter Simmons, recruits Nathan Lind, a former Monarch scientist who has become a Hollow Earth theorist, to assist them in their search for a powerful energy source in the Hollow Earth, an underground world beneath the Earth and the hidden home of the Titans, which is located beneath the surface of the Earth. The fact that Nathan's brother attempted to explore the Hollow Earth and was killed by a powerful anti-gravity field within the tunnel initially makes him wary of going into the Hollow Earth. Apex has invented and built Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles, specialized vehicles that are capable of withstanding the gravity field's pressure, and Walter explains this to him, and he finally accepts.

It is at this moment that Jia detects Godzilla's approach by sensing vibrations through the ship, as the Titan comes and battles the soldiers before capitulating and almost drowning Kong and the others on board. The gang is saved from drowning thanks to Nathan's successful release of Kong by unlocking his shackles. This allows him to combat Godzilla underwater for long enough for Godzilla to swim to the surface and turn the barge back on its side, freeing the party from their chains. Kong gets onboard a neighboring aircraft carrier in order to meet Godzilla, who also climbs aboard to confront Kong. The two Titans trade vicious punches until fighter aircraft divert Godzilla's attention long enough for Kong to shove him back into the sea. In order to avoid the explosion, Godzilla shoots his atomic breath from under the carrier, but Kong manages to get off in time, only for Godzilla to wrap his tail around Kong and take him into the depths of the ocean, where he intends to drown the Titan.

Nathan, seeing no other choice, suggests that the gang should instead turn off the power to all the ships in order to fool Godzilla into believing he destroyed them and Kong was vanquished, a plan that finally works. Godzilla surveys the wrecked fleet with interest and then swims away, assuming he has won. Recognizing that Godzilla may reappear if the ships are reactivated, the party alters their plans and instead fly Kong to a Hollow Earth entrance point in Antarctica, the location of Ghidorah's initial freezing. Jia explains to Kong that his house is through the entryway, but he is unwilling to enter.

Seeing that Kong can't live in the cold and that they can't return him to Skull Island, Nathan asks Ilene whether Kong would go if he believes there are others like him down there, and she tells Jia to persuade Kong that his family may potentially be down there, causing the Titan to enter the tunnel.

Meanwhile, Madison and Josh find Bernie, who recognizes Madison as Mark's daughter and joins their investigation as they believe Apex had something to do with Godzilla's change in behavior. Together, they sneak into the wrecked Apex base, only to find that the "eye" Bernie had described earlier is now gone. As they discover a secret facility deep underground, the group are inadvertently locked and transported in an antigravity transport vehicle carrying Skullcrawler eggs through an underground tunnel to Hong Kong.

The three disembark and find themselves inside a vast black cavern, where they come face to face with Apex's ultimate weapon, "Mechagodzilla" a mechanical Godzilla operated by the late Dr. Ishiro Serizawa's son, Walter's top technological officer Ren Serizawa. Walter throws a gigantic adult Skullcrawler nicknamed "Number 10" into the chamber to test Mechagodzilla's strength against the Titans as soon as the mecha is activated. The Skullcrawler is on the brink of attacking Madison, Josh, and Bernie when it is captured and detained by Mechagodzilla, who uses a tremendous red energy beam to slice the Skullcrawler in two, enabling Madison, Josh, and Bernie to take refuge in a tiny hatch. However, owing to power supply limits, the test is cut short when the mecha shuts down shortly thereafter.

Within the Hollow Earth, there is an ecosystem that is comparable to Skull Island. In the process of examining the region, they come under attack by two Warbats, one of which takes out one of the HEAVs. As a result of killing the first Warbat and slinging its corpse onto the second, which staggers it for a moment before recovering and constricting itself around him, Kong rescues the party. In the moments before suffocating Kong, Nathan and his crew launched a HEAV assault on the Warbat, enabling Kong to escape and hammer the monster to death before eating its guts for food.

Kong and Nathan's team set off on their journey after discovering a majestic stone temple belonging to Kong's forebears. They uncover artifacts of an ancient fight between Kong and Godzilla's race on their way inside, and Kong discovers an antique axe carved from a deceased Godzilla's race member's dorsal plate. This power source may also be used to recharge Kong's axe. Despite Ilene's concerns that Apex cannot simply seize the find of the century, Maia and the Apex team use spider-like drones to retrieve the power source and return it to their Hong Kong headquarters. Maia's guards open fire on Nathan's team, but Kong cries back furiously. When Godzilla senses the activation of Mechagodzilla, he races to Hong Kong.

Hearing Godzilla's scream as he gives Kong with another challenge, Kong accepts and continues with his axe in hand to Hong Kong as Ilene, Nathan and Jia pursue him in their HEAV through the hole made by Godzilla's atomic breath. Arriving in Hong Kong, King takes against Godzilla once more, this time getting the upper hand over the Titan, eventually shoveling his axe down Godzilla's throat to prevent him from launching his atomic breath. Kong discovers that his axe is capable of both blocking and absorbing Godzilla's atomic breath, and he uses it to stab the Titan in the thigh before Godzilla can remove and discard the axe. Using the Hong Kong skyline and his greater agility, Kong evades and dodges Godzilla's blows before retrieving and charging his axe, which he then unleashes on the monster, causing an explosion that knocks both Titans off their feet, leading Nathan to assume that Kong has won the rematch.

While Josh and Bernie try in vain to disable the ravaging robot remotely and Madison calls on Mark for assistance, Godzilla and Mechagodzilla fight, with Godzilla tiring from his earlier battle against Kong, but Mechagodzilla eventually gets the better of the fight, knocking Godzilla over and burning him to death. Nathan, Ilene, and Jia approach an unconscious Kong, where Jia detects that his pulse is decreasing, while Mechagodzilla proceeds to overrun and seriously beat Godzilla. In order to restart Kong's heart, Ilene tells Nathan that they can't produce a charge large enough to do so, but Nathan, remembering what Maia said earlier about the HEAVs producing a charge big enough to power Las Vegas for seven days, detonates the craft and releases a huge electrical charge, which instantly revives Kong.
